Second Year – IV Semester
- The students shall choose the electives based on their specialization. This semester shall have 4 papers and 1 project work.

The 4 semester Program runs across 2 years. The ODD semester begins in the month of June and ends in November. While the even semester is between December and May.
Eligibility
Candidates for admission to the first year of the Master of Business Administration Degree Course in the Institute of Distance Education (Madras University) shall be required to have ANY ONE of the following qualifications under 10+2+3 pattern of Education
- A candidate who has passed in any branch of study in Bachelors or Masters Degree at the University of Madras OR
- A candidate who has passed in any branch of study in Bachelors or Masters Degree at any other University recognized by Madras University or by the UGC OR
- A candidate who has received a Professional degree in the field of Engineering or Medicine or Architecture or Law OR
- A candidate who has a Professional qualification in the field of Accoutancy or Cost and Work Accountacny or even Company secretary ship
AND
All the candidates who apply for the MBA program must qualify in the entrance test conducted by IDE (Madras University)
Fee Structure
The total fee details for pursuing MBA is given below.
Case 1:
- If you are a Graduate from Madras University, the fees during the 1st year MBA is INR 19,350/-
- During the 2nd year of your course, the fees is INR 17,600/-
Case 2:
If you are applying through online, the fees structure for Madras University graduates are as follows
- During the 1st year, the fees is INR 20,250/- This is inclusive of Application and Entrance fee.
Case 3:
However, if you are a graduate from any other University as per the Madras University or UGC recognition, the fee structure changes. Please find the details below
- During the 1st year, the fees is INR 19,750/-
- During the 2nd year, the fees is INR 17,600/-
In both the cases, the Project fee of INR 3000/- is charged during the 4th semester if the candidate opts for Project work.
Case 4: If you are applying through online, the fees structure for Non- Madras University graduates are as follows
- During the 1st year, the fees is INR 20,650/- This is inclusive of Application and Entrance fee.
- The 2nd year fees is INR 17,600/-
Admission Procedure
The following Original Certificates/Documents with one set of photo copies attested by competent authority should be submitted. These documents must be submitted along with the application form.
- Transfer Certificate / Course Completion Certificate from the Head of the Institution where the candidate last studied.
- Statement of Marks of the Qualifying examination right from their Secondary School Education and Provisional Pass Certificate / Diploma / Degree Certificate of the Qualifying UG/PG examination along with the application form
- If the certificates submitted by the applicant are in any Language other than ENGLISH / TAMIL, an English version of the Certificate duly attested by a Gazetted Officer should be sent along with the original certificates.
- Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from abroad should submit an “Equivalence Certificate” issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) (Address : Secretary, Association of Indian Universities, 16, Kotla Marg, New Delhi – 110 002.)
Failure to submit any one or more of the above certificates / documents may entail rejection of their applications.
Examination
Scheme of Examination
Every subject has a written examination and it is divided into two parts
- End of Semester University Exam – 80 Marks
- Internal Assessment – 20 Marks
Procedure for awarding Internal Assessment Marks
- Internal Assessment marks will be in the form of online test
- Assignments will be given based on the syllabus
- The student has required to email the assignments to the prescribed email address
- Students should undergo and submit the internal assessment on or before each End Semester Examination.
Examination Passing Minimum Scores
- No passing minimum scores for IA
- A student scoring 50 percent and above in the External examination for a particular paper is considered ‘Pass’
- A candidate is considered and declared as ‘Pass’ in the project work if he/she scores 50% in project work and viva voice.
- A student who fails in the Project work can redo the project and appear for the viva voice in the next occasion.
- A student is considered to qualify for the degree if and only if he/she clears all the papers and gaining a minimum of 78 credits.
