Former Parliamentarian DR. M.V.V.S. Murthi and another well-known Andhra Pradesh industrialist and intellectuals created the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, or GITAM, in Visakhapatnam in 1980. In 2007, the institution was granted the status of a Deemed University.

GITAM University Distance Education has three campuses: one in Visakhapatnam, one in Bangalore, and one in Hyderabad.

GITAM University’s Centre for Distance Learning (CDL) has been approved by the UGC’s Distance Education Bureau (DEB), New Delhi.

The Center for Distance Learning (CDL) has been established to offer DES-recognized distance learning programs from 2009-2010 to improve access to excellent higher education at an affordable cost.

Both MBA programs have a two-year study term (four semesters). The medium of education is English only. The student will receive a Post Graduate Diploma in Management after completing the first year of this program (PGDM) and an MBA after two years.

The remaining 6 courses are evenly split between two electives, one at the start of the third and the other at the start of the fourth semester.

The following are the requirements for admission to GITAM University’s distance education MBA program:

• The candidate must have earned a Bachelor’s degree from GITAM University or a university recognized by GITAM University as comparable (excluding BFA and BOL).
• Professional qualifications such as BE /B.Tech /B. Pharma /Medicine/Law /CA /ICWA /ACS /AMEI /AIETE, etc. are also acceptable.
• The candidate must have taken and passed the GAT examination administered by GITAM University.
• Admission to the program will be based on the GAT score, subject to the satisfaction of all other qualifying requirements.

The admission procedure for GITAM University distance education MBA courses is simple.

Students can apply for the distance MBA courses through GITAM University’s official website.

Please have the following items on hand before filling out the online application:-

• A photocopy of the certificate of successful completion of the qualifying examination.
• Three copies of the candidate’s current pictures (passport size) must be enclosed.
• Total fees on behalf of CDL-GITAM, payable in Visakhapatnam, may be paid online using Net Banking, Debit/ Credit Card, Indian Bank Challan/Demand Draft.
• Fill in your Name, Application No. and Programme applied, on the reverse of the DD.
• Photocopy of Date of Birth extract.
• Scanned photograph in the format of JPG/JPEG & Size must be 130X120mm.
• After filling the online – application form take a printout.
• Send the form with attached set of above documents to the University.
• Xerox copy of AADHAR card.

Important: Applications that are lacking in terms of information or that are not supported by the required papers or payment confirmations in the form of DD will not be accepted.

GITAM University’s distance education MBA courses fee is INR 56000/- i.e INR 14000/- per semester.

Registration fee:

Along with the first-year cost, a candidate who is accepted into any program must pay an extra charge of Rs.1000/- for registration, application, and processing of admission.

PCMG:

Candidates must pay a cost of Rs.500 along with their final year fees for the Provisional Certificate cum consolidated grade card.
